Lot 1170 Judy Garland

ALS signed “Judy,” one page, 7.25 x 10, personal letterhead, February 1, 1956. Garland writes to her most well-known fan, Wayne Martin, in full: “Of course I read your very kind letters and am very touched by your many kindnesses for lo—these many years. I’m sorry to have been so remiss about dropping you a line—and think it’s so very nice of you to keep writing in spite of my bad manners. Give Trippi my love and tell her how flattered I am the [sic] she enjoys and can relax in the ‘Judy room.’” In very good condition, with a uniform shade of toning and staining, exhibiting light areas along the two horizontal mailing folds and along the top edge, an area of soiling to the left edge, and light show-through from adhesive remnants on the reverse. This is only the seventh handwritten letter from the legendary starlet that we have ever seen!
